Description
This abstract Sharpie painting is of the Statue of Liberty's crown. This is an accurate recreation of the color scheme for Lady Liberty when she was first unveiled by President Grover Cleveland. The French employed many of the great impressionists of the time to supply her colorful display. Unfortunately, in a fit of spite, Cleveland's successor, Benjamin Harrison, had the statue stripped of her gaudy colors when he took office leaving us with with the greenish algae color we've come to know and love.
